Obama and the Great Bear

When my friend Robin Easton asked for support to save the Great Bear rainforest, I knew I had to go right to the top…..well Virtually.

Please send a “one click” message to the government of British Columbia, urging them to keep their promise to the world. There is no letter writing, only clicking and 2 minutes of your time.

The scenic route would be to go to Robin’s blog, read more about the petition and click from there:

Robin Easton "Naked in Eden"

If you are in a hurry, then go straight to the petition site…

Democracy in Action

We owe it to the world and to our future generations.

Henry, this is brilliant! I confess I have never seen the point in these weird animated people but you have lifted the scales from my eyes :) Inspired, especially using Obama!

The cause is HUGELY important - I’ve already done the petitioning and have been doing letter writing (and occasionally more) for many years to try and keep the forests of British Columbia safe, the government only sees dollar signs when it looks at the forests there and cannot be trusted even for a moment. They’ve been itching to log it all to the ground for years. I’m going to have to have a rummage in ‘t interwebs and call some old friends to find out what else is going on, and hopefully publicise it myself.

Hi Bird and Tamera ~ Well as it happens, I also think the animated people are a tad weird (probably because I am) I saw them when I first had an idea of starting a web site, around two years ago. I had no idea about blogging and I saw them. They made me smile at a time when I really needed to and I’ve stuck with them. When I was a boy, I had lots of puppets and also a puppet theatre…it was just part of my childhood fantasy world that has never left me. :)

Sometimes they are useful and if ‘Obama’ makes people smile, I hope that will also make them go and click on the petition.

    Hi SoulMerlin,
Using Obama to share this story is genius! Thank you for your comments on my blog the past few days. I agree we are on the same pathway, which keeps leading us to enlightenment, and back to our soulmates, weather in life or a strong connection even on he internet!
    Thanks again Henry,
    Take Care,
    Janet :)

My dear earnest caring friend. I am soooo touched that you did this and in SUCH a creative way. I am stunned and moved…and proud of you. Touched by your caring for this old planet…and for doing this when your schedule is so packed. I feel SO happy right now listening to this again and reading it. The way you did it is just so cool. You are amazing…always. Hugs and love, Robin

This is such a beautiful and heart-warming initiative! Human beings are reminded ego often gets in the way of real spiritual growth and proactive projects like the one you describe. As we realize there is nobody to impress, nothing to get, no ambition to realize, nowhere to rush to, and nothing to miss out on, then our focus natually evolves to altrustic activities. We are only ever in competition with ourselves for survival.
